ALA MODALAINDI

This film was suggested by my student. Perhaps this dialogue should have attracted him since i know him from  his childhood.

Definitely inspired by Serendipity the film has its moments. A normal love story with misunderstandings, sacrifices etc.,

I never understand why our directors make screenplay such a mess. Its high time our directors leave this as a separate branch to others and concentrate on the film rather. This film is definitely out of place when it comes to narrating the story. what should have been a linear narration turned out to be "creative" narration.

The funny part is the director tried it to be a humorous - love story. Dumped by their counter parts the protagonists meet by accident ( serendipity link) then separate meet separate and meet. The heroine seems to be running out of ideas about her choice. The hero seems to be running out of ideas about his choice. The director finally showed some mercy and finally united them.

The parents fuss about e-generation's choices ( the girls father making his point to girl after the heroine dumps second one for hero) is another Revelation. The girls after another spate of misunderstanding agrees to marry third one. But after learning that she misunderstood she dumps the third one. So our hero is fourth choice. Iam not able to understand the girls father's character. As far as the girl is considered theres always a word--she is confused.

I don't think that our society has progressed well to develop thought line like sending a girl with a gay boy out is safe. This gay approach may evolve some laughs but it will be embarrassing for a parent to explain the meaning to a adolescent. The directors should remember Cinema is a family habit in India.Of late this attempt to generate few laughs may show adverse impact on youth. And i bet most of our elders seldom know what gay is. I SUGGEST ALL THE DIRECTORS WHO ARE USING THIS SEXUAL PERVERSION ( in my thoughts) to watch Philadelphia, broke back mountain and milk which were made on gay subjects and still made us think about the problem in different perspective. I repeat cinema in India is a family habit. Make it a memorable watch. If a 11 year old after seeing this movie asks his father or mother dad what is gay then.... If a teenager sees this and tries to develop alter thoughts.... who is answerable?  and this is given U certificate

Dear director get your basics right. study your characters. Understand their behaviour. and then pack your product. Understand what you want to do. Watch our old movies before the Hollywood, Korean and other movies. Off all the lady directors,  you have the required fire to make a good film. Great, being a lady you brought in the bizarre gay epiosdes

All said and done its not a bad movie. Hero's mother's role is neatly designed and well played. The relation between son and mother is also presented pleasantly. Certain dialogues are also funny. Hero's worry about falling hair is also very funny. Hero's relation with heroine in certain areas is worth watching especially when he proposes to her in the climax. And performances ...o...k..and so so. Its a feat to make a love story these days without using the Phrase " I LOVE YOU"

No need to rush to the theatres. Wait till some stupid TV channel buys the rights for ugadi or any other festival

EVV - MOVIES IN HIS OWN WAY

Iron leg--this has become a house hold dialogue after rather a dull movie Prema Khaidi. EVV the films director has a comedy touch of his own.
His films had doses of vulgarity but certain films definitely made us laugh heartily. most of his films are famous because of his comedy presentation.  Perhaps after the debacle of his clean " chevilo puvvu" he started commercialising films. But the comic flavour contniued. Through different chracters he made us laugh.
He may have not made classics but had  the talent. Cinema With Rk pays its condolences to a director who made us laugh.

here are the clips i laughed heartily. thank you evv

golconda high school

మనము గెలుస్తామని మనము నమ్మితే ఖచ్చితంగా గెలుస్తాం.--- this is the dialogue by the new cricket coach of GOLCONDA HIGH SCHOOL when he is asked  whether his team will win the inter school cricket tournament.

Unfortunately the film director may have lost his faith somewhere in the making of the film. fearing the fate of the film he introduced a rather unnecessary forced romantic angle, duets and unnecessary scenes.

The protagonists frustration is never clear. His rival appears in the climax scenes of the film there by making rivalry a trivial issue. what should have been a powerful flash back turns into a simple tale and narrated one.For a sports film the rival is very important and their preparations and their feelings do matter. Otherwise the rivals name should be made powerful in all scenes before the entry in final.

The objective of sports receiving a priority in schools is never properly discussed. Not properly researched this film falls clearly short of knowledge of today's schools and parents aspirations. No school other than international, showcased and govt schools dares to appoint pt( leave cricket coach) in today's set up. Properly made this film should have hit the bulls eye,.

We all know in films of this kind the underdog wins for certain. But how it is going to do this matters. lagaan and chakde delivered goods in a way that made these films classics. Here that is completely ignored. Most of the matches were never filmed. The GHS team winning parade is made on papers and  TV channels. Except for the last few seconds even the final match lacks the intensity required for a sports match

By showcasing maths and physics subject and teachers in a comedy mould the film never achieves its realistic objective.

All said and done the film is saved by the GHS cricket team. The kids deliver a natural performance. They won my heart and i guarantee even yours too. whether their comments on parents or on teachers or on principal the kids do it in the most charming way.The director should be complimented for this. Watch out for the kids reaction  scenes when the new cricket coach makes them run rounds as a initial drill.

The film belongs to subbaraju who plays the role of trustee. He in the role who is determined to build a coaching centre on the GHS cricket ground  makes a very good impact.

The films anchor sheet role is surprisingly well anchored by Sumanth as coach sampath. He underplays the role and mostly gave a dignity to the character. Except for the forced romantic drama Sumanth performed decently

Dialogues are well written. The team should be appreciated for the decency which i rarely feel in recent films.

Its a kid film. Make sure children you know watch the movie. Make sure you request parents you know  to take their kids to the film. After all after a long time we have a film with a purpose.

Now I want to showcase how tense moments are built in a sports movie. whether you know the game or not if interestingly made you will feel the Adrenalin rising. Here is the most inspiring film made on ice hockey and name of the film is Miracle. See the final match snippets and the coach's powerful dialogues in the movie. one of the best sport movie based or USA defeating soviet in the ice hockey final in Olympics. US leading the giants soviet 4-3.and to win the goal keeper should keep the soviets away. And dear me he has done it against all odds
and this really happened guys.
the following account is a filmed version and my favourite. even look at the final romantic touch in the second link

Dont miss the title credits and ending scene of Golconda High School

In one the intense scenes in the film prasthanam the son stands in immense pain watching his mother washing floors of temple. And then mother looks at him for a few seconds and then continues her work.

such scenes and stunning dialogue make prasthanam one of the best feature films made in telugu. No doubt its best ever performance by saikumar. his powerhouse performance almost stays in your heart even after you leave the theatre.

the plot itself is a plartform for bringing various human emotions to core and dissolve us in a spectrum of opinions. its pure delight when you are drawn into the film and start debating the characters actions. the director never takes sides and this i feel should have helped him to deliver one of the finest films. he presents us a film where every character has space and intensity. be it the one who who plays loyal servant to saikumar or the step daughter of saikumar.

the quality of the dialogue is the best. the conversations between saikumar and sharwanand stand out and for me the best in recent times.

the new comer who plays saikumars son (sundeep kishan) delivers a top notch performance. let it be the careless view or jealousy or cruelty or his helpness ness when the girls he tries to rape dies.

Its sharwanand who connects the movie in all its crucial junctions. he is like the batsman who gets least to bat and let others score century. he restrains himself in good measure. no other actor ever made look saikumar such powerful but sharwanand. his agony when his sister is killed, his helplessness when his father joins hands with corrupt politician and his duel with saikumar in the grand finale after the truth emerges is brilliantly expresed by him.

music- photography- screenplay -dialogue -editing -performances  strengthen a powerful story and full marks to the direcor Dev Katta.

theres a scene in which the police inspector assures saikumar that the persons they are searching will be caught.then saikumar hits the inspector and says "మనుషుల గురించి ఎవడు భయపడ్డాడు. ఒక నిజము గురించి నా భయమంత"

see this film for that truth. see this film for how we are victims of our own whims and fancies. see this film how situations make people villains and heroes. see this film for yourself. somewhere you will see your face laughing at you

National youth day

Yes.
Today is National Youth Day.
Actually wanted to write the review of  No one killed Jessica which seems to have become a ceratin kind of youth icon. But its version requires a bit research .so its in the next post
The frustrations and aspirations of young were reflected by films in each generation. The following is a simple chronicle of the "youth" fervour represented in various decades.
 I
Corruption, lethargy and hunger are always seriously reflected in the moods of films. Every Generation has its anger loathed against the system. the following are three links that present the situation and you agree nothing changed. I remember the evolution  of Kautilya begins in his childhood when his father chanak raise serious questions about corruption by the king himself. Folks corruption is a legacy
A)

see how ANR vents his seriousness against system in black and white days.
B)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H2oOEcgNpo

nothing changed with emergence of colour. see how kamal washes sys in this evergreen musical

C) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sy-h-l2GKbY&feature=related

see the frustrations of sunil in the hig tech of 2010

there may be innnumerable good ones but my point is our youth is restless as ever.
 II
A) flamboyancy style and energy -- its the magic of youth. look at the following

B) nothing changed . expression changed

C) yes nothing still changed

III) love is a patent right of youth it seems. what ever when some one in dreams or accepts to be your partner the gush rush and .....................

bgm-great asset if scored in tune with story

yes
The back ground score adds up the intensity off movie. the director who knows how to escalate emotions using BGM can easily climb the ladder of success. the music director who enhances the quality of the film with his back ground score is a complete music director,
here are some BGM which increased the intensity of the story:

!) MaryadaRamanna
the hero walks into the villains house unaware of the thing that they are waiting for years to kill him. as he is led into the house this bgm comes
this is only music   :  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5R6LAdBifFA.
